Keen to learn your own DNA patterns?
A once only test detailing your own personal Genetic Profile. From this report we tailor make a personalised health script for you.
Learn whether you may be susceptible to diabetes, heart disease, high blood depression, anxiety, fertility issues and even cancer.
Determine whether you are susceptible to low vitamin D, B 12? Do you carry the FAT genes that make you overweight? Did mum and dad give you bad arteries and heart issues?
As a Nutritional Practitioner, I then develop a lifestyle script that enables you to live disease-free according to your DNA report.
It will inform you which foods are best to eat, the type of exercise best for your body. The right supplements to maintain optimal health and more!
What is Genetic Profiling?
Developed owned and run by an Australian company, by a mouth swab we can collect your genetic data to understand your unique profile in a report. Your genes are inherited and cannot be changed, but how they express themselves can be modified through life choices. The report identifies variations that may influence the way your body functions and how it responds to what you eat, how you exercise and how you live.
What is in the Report?
As above the report highlights variations in your genetics and how your genetics behave. Once we have the profile, the report will go into detail on how to maximise your cell function “turning cells on” while minimising and “turning off” the genes causing impairment. The report is split into 6 parts:
- Inflammation- which is part of the natural body defence mechanism and part of the immune response. Genetic information from your report will inform us how well your body produces Pro and Anti-inflammatory Cytokines which will mop up infections, repair injury and keep disease away.
- Cell Defence- your body’s own anti-oxidants are far more powerful than any ant-oxidant supplement. You need to enhance your ability to produce these anti-oxidant enzymes but first, we need to determine your antioxidant status, which is found in the report.
- Vitamin D receptors- Vitamin D is in every cell in the body. If vitamin D receptor is not functioning well, the body will not utilise the vitamin D effectively. Your report will indicate if there is a variant on this gene, and if so, we can support the body to maximise its usage of vitamin D and keep levels within normal ranges.
- Methylation and homocysteine metabolism- methylation occurs in all cells and is essential for the health of all cells, mental wellbeing, fertility, cardiac disease prevention and DNA replication, to name a few. Homocysteine is converted into glutathione (enzyme), serotonin (happy hormone), melatonin (sleep hormone), dopamine (euphoria hormone) and adrenaline (fight or flight hormone). Therefore, having the knowledge of your genetic variants determines your nutritional requirements to maintain these levels and keep your body functioning at a cellular level.
- Cardiovascular health- Australia’s number one killer is heart disease. How beneficial it is to know your risk factors. The report will identify the genes affecting the regulation of blood pressure and vessels which in turn determine your risk of atherosclerosis. With this knowledge the motivation for a healthier lifestyle becomes easy.
- Fat metabolism and cholesterol regulation- this area of the report will answer questions such as, do I have genetic variants that make me overweight? Stop me from knowing when I'm full? Make me absorb more fat than I should? Stop me from burning fat as effectively as I should? It's not always what you're doing in your lifestyle that contributes to this, it can be genetic disposition! Genes can also play a part in effecting thermogenesis (your body's thermostat) and ability to keep you warm. Are you always feeling cold? Having the information on gene variants allows us to support these processes, improve metabolism and cholesterol levels and keep your body within normal ranges.
