What is our Ketogenic Program?
Our Ketogenic Program is a practitioner-supported eating program that runs over four weeks, and can be continued for 6–12 weeks. It combines a low-carbohydrate wholefood diet with moderate exercise, as a structured approach to weight management.
A ketogenic diet is low in carbohydrate and higher in fat. With fewer carbohydrates available, the body uses fat as its main fuel source, breaking it down into compounds called ketones — a state known as ketosis. As part of the program you’ll check your ketone levels using a simple urine test strip, so you can see when you’re in ketosis. The diet is built around low-GI wholefoods with adequate protein.
Is it right for you?
The program is designed for adults looking for a structured approach to weight management. It isn’t suitable for everyone. Please speak with your GP before starting — particularly if you have any existing medical condition, take regular medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. The initial assessment questionnaire also helps us check the program is a good fit for you before you begin.
What a typical day looks like
- Two low-carbohydrate wholefood meals — a palm-sized portion of protein, around three handfuls of vegetables, and moderate amounts of healthy fats (one handful of fruit can replace one handful of vegetables)
- One meal can be replaced with a protein shake (protein powder included)
- Up to two low-carbohydrate snacks (no more than around 10 g of carbohydrate in total)
- A 30–40 minute brisk walk, around four times a week
